Viewing Line Status Errors

SI_SCOPE also has the ability to capture line status error events to the data stream. This allows you to review exactly where and when a particular error occurred. You can enable this feature by choosing the "Line Status Capture" option from the Functions Menu. When a line status error is detected from the UART SI_SCOPE will display the error name in white on red. The character that was received when the error was detected follows to the right of the error. For example the figure below shows how SI_SCOPE would display a parity error that was detected while receiving the character "Z".

SI_SCOPE will use the full three character abbreviation for name of the error when in HEX mode only. In all other screen modes SI_SCOPE will use a two character abbreviation.

LINE STATUS ERROR 2 CHAR 3 CHAR
Parity Error PE PAR
Over Run Error OE OVR
Framing Error FE FRA
Break Signal Detected BR BRK
