Running a Trigger
To activate a trigger press the function key you assigned
it to. This will automatically put SI_SCOPE into trigger mode.
You should see the text "TRIG" appear in the upper right hand corner of the
screen (SI_SCOPE will display this string whenever it is
monitoring for a trigger). How SI_SCOPE behaves at this point
depends on how you programmed the trigger.
-
If you programmed the trigger's action to have
SI_SCOPE switch from idle to active mode then
SI_SCOPE will stop displaying the activity on the line until
the current trigger is detected. At this point the trigger is said to have
matured and SI_SCOPE will turn its display on as normal.
-
If you programmed the trigger to switch
SI_SCOPE from active to idle mode then
SI_SCOPE does just the opposite. That is it will continuously
display all line activity as normal until the trigger matures. At that point
SI_SCOPE will switch into idle mode only if the matured
trigger was linked to another trigger. The reason for this is so that you do
not accidentally turn SI_SCOPE's display off
permanently.
