With SI_SCOPE and a multi-port card installed on your system you have the ability to monitor an application running on the same PC as SI_SCOPE. To do this you can imagine that the ports on your multi-port card are the comports that belong to a virtual PC, and the virtual PC's screen is SI_SCOPE. To analyze another application running in Windows connect the SI_SCOPE cabling to the virtual PC, the Windows application to the DTE side of the cable, and the other end of the serial link to the DCE side of the cable. See appendix A for diagrams explaining how to set SI_SCOPE up on a stand alone PC. Substitute the "Virtual PC" explained above for the "PC running SI_SCOPE " in the illustrations.
