Creating a Macro

A macro is a string of bytes that you can program into memory and transmit at the touch of a key. Macros can be very useful in serial debugging, since they create an easy way to send initialization or control strings to a device. For example when communicating with a modem, command strings can get very complex. With macros SI_SCOPE makes it easy to control a modem or other device that responds to data commands.

To create a macro, open the functions menu and choose the "Run Macro Utility" option. This will display the Edit Macro dialog box.

If at some point you decide you want to change a macro, then run the macro utility and bring up the macro you want to change selecting it from the Macro Key drop down list.
