Appendix E Configuring the Quatech DSP-100
SI_SCOPE has built in support for your QUATECH dual port
card. Before using your card with SI_SCOPE please follow the directions in
Section1 and then proceed to Section 2.
Section 1:

Install the Quatech drivers from the driver disk that
came with your Quatech card. Refer to the documentation included on your Quatech CD for more details.

Verify that your card is working using HyperTerm or a similar program.

Open Device Manager on your system and double click
on the entry titled “Quatech Multiport Serial Devices”

Locate the entry for your card and double click on it.

On the next dialog box click on the resources tab and
write down the values for the Interrupt Request and Input/Output Range.

Click “Cancel”
Section 2:
Now you are ready to launch SCOPECFG from the Windows
Start Menu. After the program loads follow these steps:

Select the Settings->Configure Port Parameters menu option.

In the Port1 Address field enter the value recorded
for the Input/Output range from section 1 step 5 above.

In the Port1 IRQ field enter the value recorded for
the Interrupt Request from section 1 step 5 above.

Add eight to the value in the Port1 Address field and
enter that value in the Port2 Address field.

Enter the value for the Port1 IRQ field into the
Port2 IRQ field and click Accept.

Select the Settings->Configure Board Type menu option.

From the “Multiport Board Configuration” dialog
choose your Quatech card type from the drop down menu.

Leave the Base Address set at zero and click Accept.

Select the Settings->Configure Virtual Driver menu option.

From the Configure SI_SCOPE Device Driver dialog
enable the Claim Hardware during O/S Load option and click Accept.

Reboot your PC.
Note: When the SI_SCOPE drivers are enabled your
Quatech card will display an error in Device Manager. This is normal behavior
since SI_SCOPE's drivers have claimed the card. Before you can use your Quatech
card with another application uncheck the claim hardware option in step 10 and
reboot.
