Click on the settings menu and choose the option "Configure Board Type". You will be presented with the following dialog box:
Open the drop down combo box by
clicking on the down arrow. If you are using a multi-port board select it from
the list of choices. If you do not see your board on the list, or you are not
using a multi-port board then select the option "Generic Multiport". Please note
that if you are not using a multi-port board then you must have two free
comports on your system.
Next fill in the boards base address. The boards base address is the address of the first port on your board. If you are using the "Generic Multiport" option leave this field set at 0. When you are satisfied with your choices click the Accept button.
Now you need to configure the
software for the port addresses and IRQ's you will be using. Click on the
Settings menu and choose the "Configure Port Parameters" option. You should be
presented with the following dialog box:
This box allows you to tell SI_SCOPE what ports and IRQ's to use on your system. All you have to do is tell SI_SCOPE how to find the SI_SCOPE cable that is attached to your communications board and what IRQ's to use for each port. For example if you are using a 4 port DigiBoard PCX configured for port1 at 100h and port2 at 108h then you would enter 100 and 108 as the port addresses to use, and connect the SI_SCOPE cabling to ports 1 and 2 on the board. If you have the board configured to use IRQ 5 for both ports then enter a 5 for the IRQ Level of both ports. Please note that all values are expected to be in hexadecimal. Be sure to check the validity of your entries since the software will use these values and improper use could cause a system crash! When you are satisfied with your choices click the Accept button.
