Configuring the Device Driver Settings (SIDRVR)
To configure the device driver (SIDRVR) choose the
option "Configure Virtual Driver" from the Settings menu. If you are running
under Windows NT, 2000, XP, or Vista you need to be logged into the system with
administrative rights in order to configure SIDRVR. You will need
to reboot your system in order for any changes made on this
screen to take effect.

-
Comm Buffer Size: Changes the amount of memory
used by the drivers I/O buffers. Note that the memory allocated by this option
is kernel memory and you should only increase this amount if you are
receiving buffer overflows when running SI_SCOPE
.
-
Virtual Irq Sharing: Turn this option
on to instruct the driver to share the irq you specified when setting up your cards
parameters.
-
High
Resolution
Time Stamps: Only valid when running under Windows
NT, 2000, XP, or Vista. When high resolution is enabled SIDRVR will record
time stamps with 1 millisecond accuracy. Using this option will
utilize the most granular time stamping methods allowed by the
operating system and will result in somewhat slower system throughput. With
this option off SIDRVR will default to a less accurate time stamp that will be
in the 10-100 millisecond range. To get the most accurate time stamp
information you should turn this option on
and disable the "Auto 16500 UART Detection" option from the "Set Run-Time Options"
menu.
-
Claim Hardware During
O/S Load: Instructs SIDRVR to claim the I/O resources during operating system boot. If you
are receiving an error stating that SIDRVR could not virtualize your irq then turn this option
on.
